ABOUT US

Tres Osos Ranch was founded in 2014 as a sanctuary for our horses, dogs and family.  A lifelong equestrian, I wanted to create a place where our horses could enjoy some well-earned time off from competition and we humans could take shelter from the trials of the big city a few days at a time.

Then I got sick. While that is another story for another time, I can safely say, it was our farm that healed me and taught us we could do more than we ever thought possible.  Informed by three generations of avocado farming right here in Santa Barbara, decades in the wilds of New York City, a lifetime passion for horses and a stubborn commitment to doing things right, we turned our attention to making this farm into a real place of healing. From growing row crops, to olives, from raising animals for protein to farming the alfalfa to feed them, we even became one of the first fully licensed outdoor Cannabis farms in the state of CA.  We learned to grow and produced the things I needed to get well, and in doing so we found a passion for nurturing this family farm, and all the life that thrives here. And the farm, in turn, nurtured us and restored my health.

Today the farm has come full circle. We are once again focused my first love; horses. We still offer grazing services to all kinds of livestock (you can see our happy milk cow, Cookie, along with mischievous goats and sheep keeping our weeds down and fire protection current, out back) we are thrilled to provide our equine clients with world class turnout, layup and grazing facilities. Created as a sanctuary and place of restoration for my beloved animals, we are now available to provide this same level of care, rest, recovery, grazing and exceptional turnout for yours.
